The thirteen African destinations featured in this book are the self-reported hometowns of Berlin park drug dealers who were willing to reveal their mother tongue, place of origin and migration route to Europe, in interviews for the exhibition “Dealer Homelands: Origins and Migration Routes of Berlin Park Drug Sellers” at the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum, Berlin (2017/2018).

Museum visitors were able to book travel directly to these destinations from a “Travel Portal” installed as part of the exhibition. The portal provided travel service, airline, hotel, and restaurant links, as well as advisories for destinations where such amenities were limited.
